Colour
Pale lemon
Aroma
Simple subdued varietal Chardonnay aromas with fine stone fruit and lemon straw character.
Palate
Straight forward fruit flavours with soft acid and approachability. No discernible wood on the palate making it a great easy drinking Chardonnay for those who prefer fruit over oak in their wines.
Food Matching
This chardonnay will go well with creamy pasta dishes and mixed salads as well as a wide variety of white meats and fish dishes. Also a good all round wine without food as an aperitif.
Cellaring Potential
The wine is drinking beautifully now but with a base of Hunter Valley Chardonnay and sealed with Stelvin cap to retain freshness this wine could be cellared for another 3-5 years.
Artifex has been made by First Creek Winemaking Services, which has become associated with quality and reliability in wine circles. It makes wine for several highly successful wine brands and makes a range of wine for a range of labels predominantly taking in fruit from quality well respected wine regions in NSW and the ACT. The noble grape variety is synonymous with a vast spectrum of wine styles and flavours from around the world. It makes the most expensive white wines in the world from Burgundy and produces fresh simple wines to rich and complex styles often attaining greater complexity during an ageing in oak wine barrels. This wine has been cellared under ideal controlled conditions in the first warehouse after bottling.
