Colour
The appearance is a welcoming, bright cherry red with deep intensity and some earthy, brick red hues.
Aroma
The bouquet is packed with ripe dark berries and plum fruit behind savoury smoked game and ironstone clay. The fruit is sweet and rich with earthy spices delivering complexity and sophistication.
Palate
This traditional blend of Grenache Shiraz and Mourvèdre captures the essence of the Mediterranean with spicy flavours and clean dry palate. The long hot summer of 2008 produced extra ripeness from the gnarly old bush vines which has added an extra dimension of licorice and musk which heightens the silky smooth sensation on the finish.

This is a hearty, food friendly style of the classic GSM blend. It’s rich and velvety with sturdy tannin structure and firm silky texture. It’s big and flavoursome to suit rustic home style, country cuisine. It’s a generous wine packed with the natural flavours of the earth for everyday enjoyment.
Cellaring Potential
This wine follows a long line of Sheridans Block classics that have been aged in cellar for over 4 years before release. The wine is already mature, balanced and well integrated for enjoyable drinking now. It will continue to age if carefully cellared for a further 5 – 8 years.
Sheridans Block is situated on a well drained limestone ridge overlooking the breathtakingly beautiful Wachtel’s lagoon brimming with a diverse range of wildlife. Located in sunny South Australia, the property was acquired in 1998 by the Sheridan family who proceeded to rebuild and upgrade the vineyards and winery which were originally established in the early 1960’s. Today it’s a modern, boutique facility with 12.8 hectares of Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Chardonnay producing premium, handcrafted, small batch wines.
