Colour
The appearance is deep garnet red with long viscous legs and dark cherry red hues.
Aroma
The bouquet is rich and intense with a complex array of ripe fruit characters mingling with perfumed spice, toasty oak and polished timber. The hallmark of truly Grand Barossa wines is the multi dimensional elements that continue to unfold as it opens up in the glass.
Palate
The opening palate is packed with dark berries and earthy spice which gradually evolves as complex secondary characters come forward. Gamey, savoury characters are followed by chocolate, mocha and hints of liquorice spice. The abundance of flavour is supported by an equally robust tannin and acid structure with good weight and generous mouth-feel. It’s a timeless wine of generous proportion, with great depth and length of palate.
Food Matching
This is a genuine example of the richness and intensity of this traditional Barossa blend, it is best enjoyed with equally flavoursome dishes like aged, thick cut rib eye or fillet steak and it’s ideal as an after dinner match with a selection of tasty cheeses, nuts and dried fruits.
Pan Terra, meaning “Many Lands” is a collection of exclusive wines crafted by winemaker Chris Hill with a vision to capture the essence of their origin … the vineyard.
