Original Retail Prices: In certain circumstances, an item for sale on the site may display the manufacturers Original Retail price (ORP). All ORPs are prices supplied by the manufacturer (or retailer) of the item at the time of the items original sale, and therefore such ORPs may not be current at the time of the online auction of the item. Graysonline takes no responsibility for the display of ORPs on any item it offers for sale at an online auction on its site, and hereby advises all bidders to satisfy themselves as to the value of the item being auctioned.

Online Auction Closing

Online Auction Closing

Typically, auctions are over at their posted times. There are some exceptions to this, however, if there are any successful bids on a particular lot within 10 minutes of the close of the online auction (the “Going, Going, Gone! Period), it will be extended until there are no successful bids within the "Refresh Period".

There is no limit to the number of times an online auction can be extended. This makes graysonline work more like a live auction where the bidding doesn’t stop as long as there is still interest in the product, rather than assigning an arbitrary cut-off time. This means it is a good idea to watch the action as the auction nears closing time and to check back often

Warranty And Registration

Warranty

Please be advised in the state of New South Wales when purchasing a vehicle through auction you will not have the same statutory warranty, cooling-off period or Certificate of Roadworthiness you would receive when buying from a licensed motor car trader. Manufacturers warranties will still apply to a vehicle as per their terms and conditions, you will have to go directly to the manufacturer with the claim not Graysonline. The balance of a new car warranty will also apply to vehicles sold at auction. No other warranties will be provided.

Registration

As registration and ownership requirements vary from state to state buyers should familiarise themselves with the registration requirements of the state in which the vehicle will be registered. As is standard auction practice the buyer is responsible for state transfer fees, duties etc. that may apply. Please note: If sold unregistered then the number plates will be removed. If sold with registration, the registration can only be transferred in the state where that registration is held, otherwise it will be sold unregistered and the number plates will be removed. Please check the lot description for each vehicle.

GRAYS will not be liable for any fines in relation to registration matters and registration may be cancelled if not transferred within 14 days of the invoice date.

For NSW registration, once your invoice is paid, you’ll need to visit a motor registry with:

  • A Safety Check certificate
  • Your paid Grays Online Invoice (you will not need the old registration paperwork, these will not be given with the vehicle)
  • Proof of identity, or if you’re registering the vehicle in the name of a company or organisation, proof that the company or organisation is a legal entity
  • A completed registration application form
And you may need to pay for:
  • General registration charges.
  • Stamp duty.
  • Number plates.
  • CTP insurance premium (green slip)
  • Late transfer surcharge. A surcharge will be applied to customers who fail to transfer the registration within 14 days of the date of acquisition
