The 1998 vintage is a robust wine showing distinctive regional character.
Medium to full red-purple; clean, ripe cassis/berry fruit, the mark of the vintage, is married with positive French oak on the bouquet. The palate has smooth and sweet cassis and blackcurrant fruit, again with a nice touch of French oak, finishing with soft but persistent tannins. Adelaide-Hyatt Wine of the Year in 2000.

It has a rich cabernet bouquet that is splendidly complemented by subtle oak from careful maturation in French hogsheads for 18 months. The palate has great depth of flavour, is full and rich with a firm, dry finish.
