Winemaker Notes
This wine is the fifth I have made from Cabernet Sauvignon grapes at my Redbank Winery. It has been bottled in magnums of which there are only 18,000.
This wine has the characteristic deep ruby colour for which my wines have become renowned. Its bouquet is a balanced combination of grape variety, district and careful maturation in American Oak casks and on the palate there is a significant depth of flavour which is in complete harmony with the intense fruit character.
I suggest you hold this wine for at least 5 years, after which time you will have a classic Redman dry red. In the event of a natural crust developing
Redman winery is one of the pioneers of the Coonawarra district. Four generations of Redmans have lived and worked in Coonawarra since 1901.
Today Malcolm, Bruce and his son Daniel continue the family tradition of making wines that are a true reflection of the quality of the Coonawarra region. Redman wines are elegant and well balanced in their youth, yet will also develop greater complexity when given a chance to age in the bottle.
