Expert Reviews

Excellent result from the vintage. Sweet with blackberry, licorice, coal and clove flavours, ribbed with earthen tannin and flush with both fruit and toasty, resiny oak. It's true to the established style of the label and if anything, the cooler vintage has helped balance it up a fraction; a semblance of elegance to a hearty show.

Intense sweet dark berries and ripe plums, with liquorice and allspice highlights, supported by stylish and well-integrated vanilla oak.

Palate

Rich and concentrated, exhibiting flavours of dark berries and spice, with full yet soft fruit tannins running through a sweet mid-palate, finishing long and silky-smooth.

Cellaring Potential

Bursting with fruit and stylish oak, this wine may be enjoyed now, although we suggest you put some away in a quiet place for a few years and enjoy the additional complexities which can be achieved by careful cellaring.

Food Matching

An excellent complement for beef served mediumrare with a rich jus, or with a fine matured cheese.
