Colour & Appearance

Pale yellow with fine, persistent mousse.

Aroma

Aromatic and lively nose with strawberry fruit aroma.

Palate

Yellowglen Vintage Crémant is deliciously soft and fruity, with a touch of residual sweetness that creates a lovely creamy texture on the palate.

Maturation

Traditional sparkling winemaking techniques, including secondary bottle fermentation and 12 months yeast lees maturation were used for the wine.

Vintage Conditions

The fruit for this wine was sourced from vineyards in South Eastern Australia. The 2009 vintage was warm to hot, with a pro-longed heatwave in mid-March. However, grapes picked before the elevated temperatures were delivered to the winery in pristine condition, resulting in good varietal definition and balanced flavours.

Who We Are

The grapes are harvested at just the right moment so our outstanding team of winemakers can create the distinctive fresh, fruit style Yellowglen is famous for. Our superb range includes a bubbly for any occasion. From the bright and breezy Yellow range which includes our low alcohol/low calorie Jewel, through to the complex and distinctive Perle and Bella Vintages. It's no wonder Yellowglen is Australia's favourite sparkling wine brand.

The History

With over 40 years of winemaking experience and innovation, Yellowglen continues to produce the highest quality craftsmanship and standard of the sparkling wines.

Established as a hobby by Ballarat businessman Ian Home, the Yellowglen vineyard at Smythesdale was originally planted with red grape varieties destined for table wine.

The name Yellowglen was given to the winery after a gold mine was discovered in the middle of what are now Pinot Noir vineyards. It soon became clear that this cool climate area would be far better suited to the production of world class sparkling wine. Sparkling wine was made for the first time at Yellowglen.

In 1989 the first Yellowglen Vintage wine was released. It was made from the 1987 vintage and it has gained a reputation as being one of Australia's finest single vintage sparkling wines.

In 1996 Yellowglen Yellow Sparkling was successfully launched, becoming an instant success.

And in the 2000's, Yellowglen reaffirms its position as leader in sparkling with the launch of the exciting new innovations, Jsuch as Jewel Yellow and Jewel Pink - Australia's first ever dedicated lower calorie, lower alcohol sparkling wines.

The Winemaker

Charles "Chilly" Hargrave is the man in charge of the winemaking team behind Yellowglen's popular sparkling wines. As Yellowglen's Chief Winemaker since 1999, Chilly has overseen the style and development of Yellowglen's wines - from the fresh fruit and everyday enjoyment of Yellow and Pink to the highly accoladed Vintage Perle. Chilly has a wealth of experience and knowledge about Australian sparkling wines. Under Chilly's care, the Yellowglen brand has risen to dizzying heights as Australia's most popular and instantly recognisable sparkling wine...
