"Almond, nutty and walnut nose with croissant flavours. Good, even flavour. Massive amount of spiced and roasted nuts; more full than champagne. It displays white pepper herbal flavours that you would expect from a cool climate who have only just cropped the fruit. " Robert Geddes MW, Drink Trade (01/JAN/2011)

Palate
It rolls happily into a fruity mouthful of juicy, flavours. Delicate almond characters with undertones of hazelnut, subtle touch of clove and limes. Crisp and elegant, a well rounded, easy to enjoy palate, with good fruit, fresh flavours and depth of flavour.
In 1886, Henri Grandin, a notary and wine lover, married Madamoiselle Pouillet de Limesle, whose family owned the cellars of ‘la Bouvraie’ in the old royal glassworks of Louis XIV, below a splendid château at Ingrandes-sur-Loire.
This region is known as “le Jardin de la France”, named as a tribute to a gentle and peaceful area that the kings of France had made their summer playground for centuries. In 1886 Henri Grandin launched the “méthode champenoise” which still bears his name. The Grandin property today still consists of this stunningly picturesque Château and its cellars, producing an excellent quality in the purest tradition of the méthode champenoise (now called “méthode traditionnelle”).

Since 1886, Grandin has produced an excellent sparkling from the Loire Valley in southern France. You'll find apples, floral and citrus characters with a touch of honey and yeast. Great French for a fraction of the price. John Lehman, Range News (28/OCT/2010)
Fruit for this classic Champagne is sourced from the Loire, Charentes and South West of France. The wine undergoes secondary fermentation in the bottle before being aged for a minimum of 12 months to create a Champagne that is well balanced with toasty notes.National Liquor News (01/OCT/2010)

Subtle fruit evident on the nose with minimal yeast characters and a good line of flavour. Similar to Champagne in its dry, minerally palate. Carefully blended cool climate French varieties gives remarkable value. Restaurant wine.
