Winery Tasting Notes

Colour

Brilliant, pale green / straw.

Aroma

Clean, fresh aromas of lemongrass, snowpea and a little passionfruit, backed up by notes of nettles and mineral. Quite attractive.

Palate

Bright, zingy acid on the palate keeps the wine crisp and balanced finishing with a vibrant tropical /nettle flourish. Quite richly flavoured, but has some real elegance as well, plus a pleasantly dry, textural finish.

Food Matching

Try it with pan seared scallops with a little garlic and butter sauce.

Winery Profile

Pike & Joyce represents the coming together of two families to form a partnership in wine. The Pike family, long established in winemaking, viticulture and brewing, and the Joyce family, longtime horticulturists, banded together in 1997 to develop a new joint venture vineyard at Lenswood, in the Adelaide Hills wine region of South Australia. Both families have been at the forefront of their respective fields for over 100 years. Only varieties totally suited to the cool climate of this region have been planted on the former apple, pear and cherry orchard site. These varieties include Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir. Both families hope you will enjoy these wines.
