For over 20 years, Petaluma's Coonawarra has been predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, two of the best varietals from South Australia's renowned Coonawarra region.

The fruit for Coonawarra is sourced from two main sites, the Evans Vineyard and the Sharefarmers Vineyard. The average age of vines at Petaluma's Evans and Sharefarmers Vineyards is in excess of 30 years and these hand pruned, close spaced, vertical canopy vines are naturally balanced at modest crop levels of 5 tonnes/hectare of hand picked fruit.

Very good hue, but somewhat light; a Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Shiraz blend; has plenty of character, with red fruits and cedar first up, then darker berry characters with savoury/earthy tannins, cedary oak coming again on the finish. Rating 94 - Drink by 2020 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (MAR/2011)
