Expert Reviews

Strong purple-red hue still in play; a substantial and complex medium- to full-bodied wine, fusing blackberry, plum and spice in its core, then wrapping a thin sheath of dark chocolate and oak around that core. Rating 91 - Drink by 2024, James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (JAN/2013).

Winery Tasting Notes

Colour

This Shiraz displays a deep, dark red colour.

Aroma

Although initially dark and brooding with pepper and spice on the nose, some time in the glass reveals a perfumed lift with sweet red berries making it really complex.

Palate

Intense and tightly wound on the palate which surrenders red licorice and pepper flavours.

Winery Profile

Brothers in Arms has a history of family grape growing spanning five generations, with Guy Adams' family purchasing the "Metala" property 125 years ago and planting the first vines - Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, in 1891.

Langhorne Creek in South Australia lies on the shores of Lake Alexandrina just a few miles from the Southern Ocean and is without question red wine country.

Guy and his wife Liz head up a dedicated team that are proud to produce wines of balance, structure and texture that are true to the Estate and true to the Langhorne Creek region.
