57% Cabernet Sauvignon and 43% Shiraz

Aroma/Palate

This traditional blend of Cabernet and Shiraz displays features of both varieties in a medium bodied wine. A rich wine with soft, lingering and fresh berry flavours. A uniquely Australian blended style. This wine is fruit forward and complex created by the Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz flavours and full of berry flavour. The style expresses the contemporary (Cabernet Sauvignon) and the traditional (Shiraz) grapes of Coonawarra.

Winery Profile

Owner Kym Tolley describes himself as a fifth-generation winemaker,the family tree involving both the Penfolds and the Tolleys. He worked 17 years in the industry before establishing Penley Estate and has made every post a winner since, producing a succession of rich, complex, full-bodied red wines and stylish Chardonnays. These are made from precious estate plantings. A welcome return to form with the ’08 and ’09 reds.
