Made in only the best years our 2011 Limited Release Pinot Noir is bright red in colour with strong aromatics of red fruit, spice and complex savoury notes.

Palate

The palate complex and structured wih great diversity of layers and characters.

Cellaring

The wine is best aged for up to 12 years.

Winery Profile

Alana Estate was founded in 1993. Alana wines are very sought after around the world and are on strict allocation.

There is 20.4 hectares of Estate vineyard planted across Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Riesling. The vineyard is currently undergoing organic conversion which will be completed in 2014. This allows us to respect our terroir as much as possible and ensure the longevity of the soils, vineyard and vines. All grapes are hand harvested and and sorted before being taken to the winery, where they are sorted again.

The winery is built into the side of the hill at the base of the terrace. The natural slope allows the maximum use of gravity so each movement between the tiers of the winery can be performed without a pump. This allows the maintenance of the natural characters of the fruit and respect the terroir by limiting the introduction of oxygen through pumping.
