Villa Saletta is a 1,760 acre private estate nestled amidst the rolling hills and vineyards of Tuscany, Italy. Once the home of the Riccardi family, bankers to the Medici, this magnificent Borgo has a long and remarkable history. In the Vatican Book of Maps, the 15th- century estate appears between Pisa and Florence, and it features in numerous sketches, paintings and frescoes from the 18th century. The winemaking tradition here declined when the estate fell into disrepair after the Second World War.

It was purchased by the current owners in 1999, and they have since been dedicated to restoring the estate and invigorating the vineyards. New plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Sangiovese began in 2002.

To-date 20 hectares of vines have been cultivated in nine separate vineyards, with the vines now coming into their own. The wines produced have a unique character and a distinctive depth.

Villa Saletta produces a small selection of top quality Tuscan wines. Each of the Villa Saletta vineyards has its own specific soil and climate, and the estate’s approach is focused on preserving these intrinsic characteristics in the wines.
