Colour

Brilliant pale straw colour with watery hue.

Aroma

The nose displays lifted characters of baked apple, cinnamon and roasted almonds with some spice end notes.

Palate

The palate shows more richness, concentration and a heavier texture than the Marc Bredif with mouthfilling flavours of baked apple and ripe pear followed by some roasted almond cinnamon like characters and spice. Round textural mouthfeel with a clean medium dry finish. Aftertaste of baked apple, ripe pear, cinnamon and spicy roasted almond. A fuller broader style.

Winery Profile

Located on the former outbuilding of a medieval castle, the Domaine d’Orfeuilles was founded in 1947 by Paul Herivault. The “Vouvray Appellation Controlee” vineyard now covers almost 20 hectares in the communes of Chancay and Reugny. This vineyard is now cultivated by Bernard Herivault and his son Arnaud. They make every effort to maintain the traditions in the cultivation of the vines as well as production of their wines.

The Chenin variety us grown on clayey, clay-limestone soil with a high density of flint stone. This situation, specific for our vineyard, gives our wines an unmistakable characteristic: the famous “flinty taste”.
