Geoff Merrill is somewhat of a legend in the McLaren Vale where he is as famous for his award-winning wines as he is his larger than life character. This wine spends three years in the bottle before i’s released ensuring it’s balanced and integrated when it gets to you. This has it all, a Cabernet that’s varietal and rich with aromas of mint, cedar, black fruits and earthy notes. Bouquet

The aroma is intense and complex displaying the beginnings of bottle development. It is strongly earthy and menthol with some liquorice, chocolate and soy notes

Palate

The palate is smooth and chocolaty with a ripe fruit warmth. Very well integrated oak plus firm fruit tannins provide a fine, almost hidden underlying structure which slowly reveals itself on the finish. Impeccably balanced acidity brings the wine together seamlessly and ensures longevity and a broad range of food matches

As a leading personality in the emerging Australian wine industry, Geoff also established a high profile internationally, most recently as consulting winemaker in Italy making wines for the UK market and as a respected judge at Australian and International wine shows.

Geoff Merrill's wines have been successful at Australian and International wine shows, including the coveted Jimmy Watson Trophy at the 2005 Melbourne wine show. Since 1980 Geoff Merrill Wines have won 29 Trophies, 143 Gold , 373 Silver and 1181 Bronze medals.
