2013 saw low rainfall in spring with January being quite dry and warm. The dry weather allowed fruit to reach optimum ripeness with goods balance and acidity and flavour. Some lights showers fell in late February which helped to freshen the fruit but not enough for disease to take hold. Vintage started later than 2012 but finished with a flurry with all whites and reds harvested by the end of March. Quality is above average.

A group of old friends in the liquor industry came together with a common love of wine

As we have aged like fine wine we wanted to make some too.

Knowing that great wine comes from great produce, we went searching for it.

By working closely with growers and winemakers from wine regions all over Australia, we only pick the best fruit for our wine.

We shared our first vintage among friends who loved what we did

Contributing to the community by helping others brings happiness, so it made sense, with our signature Boab Tree Wine Range to do just that.

The Boab or “Bottle Tree” is an iconic Australian tree, known for thousands of years to the Aboriginal people for providing shade, shelter, protection, water and food. We saw this as an ideal symbol for our wine label as it reflects our fundraising intention, to help provide these too children in need.

For our Signature range we bought highly acclaimed winemaker Sam Trimboli into the Boab Tree family. With over 30 years of winemaking under his belt Sam has won many coveted awards over the years including “Best Merlot in World” 2006 International Wine Challenge in London,” Gold Medal Best Shiraz” 2005 San Francisco International Wine Competition to name a few. With over 30 international medals and over 400 awards in Australia, Boab Tree Wines is in good hands.
