Difference Between Water Filters and Water Purifiers

Water Purifiers use a carbon block filter whilst Water Filters use an activated carbon filtering process. With a carbon block filter the water is forced through very small holes in a block of carbon (similar process as used in respirators) and the impurities and contaminants are captured in the carbon. Only pure water will come out from the carbon block filter. Activated Carbon works by the water filtering through carbon particles which remove contaminants as it passes through the 4 step filtration process. Both filters maintain the fluoride content of water.

Uses of Purified Water

Besides drinking, purified water will remove limescale so is great for use in kettles and coffee machines to reduce limescale build up and extend the life of your appliance. It also is a great way to remove impurities from the water you cook with to make pasta, rice, soups and vegetables. Purified water will create clearer ice cubes that freeze quicker and last longer and can give given to pets and used to water indoor plants.
