Some excellent mature characters with creamy malo and rich toastiness layered with fruit and smoky oak. Soft and creamy in the mouth, with great length of flavours. 4 and 1/2 Stars - Winestate Magazine (Nov/Dec 2010)

Tasting Notes

Appearance

The colour is brilliant golden straw. The bubbles are fine. The mousse is both discreet and persistent.

Aroma

Expressive with aromas of peach, white flowers and vanilla pod.

Palate

Lively and fresh with excellent balance. This is a delicate wine with flavours of fresh fruit and honey.

Food Matching

This Champagne can be drunk as an aperitif or with food, preferably with an evening meal. It is a perfect accompaniment to white meat (lamb with chanterelles), crayfish or mushroom quiche.

Grape Varietals

Taittinger Brut Réserve is a blend of Chardonnay wines (40%) and Pinot wines (60%) from 30 to 50 different vineyards and matured to perfection. Such a high proportion of Chardonnay is seldom found among the great Champagne.

Winemaking Notes

It is aged for three to four years in the cellars where it achieves perfect maturity and well-developed aromatic potential.

Brand Profile Image

Taittinger is one of the last remaining family-owned Champagne houses. In 1931, Pierre Taittinger purchased the historic Champagne house, Forest-Fourneaux, and a year later re-named it Champagne Taittinger.

Revered by critics all over the world, Champagne Taittinger is the very definition of French sophistication, elegance and finesse.

Located in the great regions of wine growing Champagne , the Champagne Taittinger vines cover 288 hectares evenly distributed over 34 different vineyards , which include some of the appellations finest . With varietals consisting of 50% Pinot Noir , 15% Pinot Meunier and 35% Chardonnay , the Taittinger vineyard is an unsurpassed expample of the Houses own style , in which Chardonnay plays such a significant role.

The Vineyards own production is supplemented by contractual acquisition of grapes from independent suppliers operating the finest vineyards in Champagne.

In proportion to its size , Taittinger is amongst the great Champagne houses , one of the growers with the largest supply from the Cotes des Blancs , the preferred place of origin of the Chardonnay grand crus.
