Expert Reviews

The wine spent 16 months in new and used French oak, its bright colour attesting to the array of plum, raspberry and red cherry fruits on the bouquet and palate; the oak initially looks too obvious, but is pulled back into shape by the fruit on retasting. Aroma

A complex tapestry of aromas lure and tantalise the senses. Plum and blackberry characters delicately intertwine with spicy cherry, baked earth, dark couverture chocolate and heady notes of fragrant lavendar.

Palate

Striking a deft balance between finesse and power, the palate is plush and velvety in texture with a signature regional rustic bite. Beguiling flavours of maraschino cherry, mulberry, tobacco, nutmeg and cedary oak prevail ahead of a blanket of fine and powdery tannin on the long and flavoursome finish.
