Winery Tasting Notes

Mt. Langi Ghiran `The Gateway` Shiraz 2013 Aromas: Blackberries and red cherry notes, with perfumed spices of cinnamon and cloves. Palate: Boysenberry, mulberry and blackberry fruits form the vibrant core of this wine. Delicate notes of spices are complimented with powdery, cocoa like tannins, creating a luscious wine with amazing balance and length.

McGuigan 'Discover' Shiraz 2013 Upfront dark berry fruit aroma, with a floral lift and underlying smoky oak character. A soft to medium weight wine with a juicy berry flavour followed by vanilla which adds a floral dimension. This results in liveliness to the palate with a silky soft finish that slides down the throat easily.

Brokenwood `Three Sovereigns` Cabernet Merlot 2011 Red plummy fruit characters with tobacco Cabernet Sauvignon flavours in the background. Soft, ripe tannins give the wine great texture and length of flavour. Best enjoyed with roast meats and strong cheese.

Spy Valley `Satellite` Pinot Noir 2013 Aroma displays cranberry, raspberry, and light spices, this mingles with notes of blueberry and truffle. This wine has an even structure with a dry finish. Toasty oak notes are apparent and support generous fruit from a favourable vintage.
