Expert Reviews

Bright crimson-purple; has authentic varietal character in abundance, that spiced confit plum amalgam, or plum jam without being jammy, if that makes it clearer; the soft tannins also carry the length well. Rating 93 - Drink by 2020 - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion (FEB/2014)

Winery Profile

Brothers in Arms has a history of family grape growing spanning five generations, with Guy Adams' family purchasing the "Metala" property 125 years ago and planting the first vines - Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon, in 1891.

Langhorne Creek in South Australia lies on the shores of Lake Alexandrina just a few miles from the Southern Ocean and is without question red wine country.

Guy and his wife Liz head up a dedicated team that are proud to produce wines of balance, structure and texture that are true to the Estate and true to the Langhorne Creek region.

Sometimes you need a sweeter red, like Friday nights, and Sat. Well, Sunday would be okay, or Monday…fruit up. Max Crus - GRAPE EXPECTATIONS - 9.0 POINTS May 2014

This 2012 Malbec is a beauty, reflecting why Malbec is grown more in Langhorne Creek than any other Australian wine region. Fruit for this one came off vines planted 12 years ago, the resultant wine a lovely floral and fragrant style, and which, as Liz says, is simply made for foods, chargrilled meats being particularly suited to it.
