A half-hectare of Pinot Gris was planted on the south facing slopes of the vineyard in 2003.

This grape variety is a mutation of Pinot Noir and is widely planted in the cooler areas of Australia. The cool climate of Tasmania is ideal in developing the full flavours of these grapes.

Colour

Pale straw, old gold with a flash of copper.

Aroma

Spicily aromatic and musky with sweet pear and honey.

Palate

This wine's style is driven by full and ripe fruit flavours, particularly pear and dried banana. The overall impression is one of lusciousness but with a clean dry/rich finish. There is a pleasing touch of oiliness and chewiness from the skin tannins, but the poised and well integrated acid maintains a refreshing balance.
