2004 was an exceptional vintage for Cabernet in Langhorne Creek. Only the best vintages are able to make a reserve Cabernet at Temple Bruer. This wine shows complexity and regional qualities of Langhorne Creek. The fruit used to make this wine was sourced from the Temple Bruer’s certified organic vineyard. Picking commenced in late March 2004, slow fermentation was performed to extract maximum flavour and tannin which is vital to make the best aged Cabernet. The wine was then matured in French oak barrels for 24 months.

Winery Tasting Notes

Colour Dark red with crimson hues

Aroma Initial Aromas of mixed spice, cinnamon, cloves and violet are dominant with blackcurrant, mint and some delicate aged characters of coffee and anise in the background.

Palate The palate is full of fruit and spice with firm coating tannins that are drying on the finish.

Our philosophy is to produce quality wines that maximise enjoyment and minimise impact.

Temple Bruer was founded back in the 1970’s on the banks of the Angas River. From a small planting of vines to start with, the company now owns three vineyards in different regions within South Australia. With a strong desire to look after the environment the vineyards and winery became certified organic. This means that there are no artificial herbicides, fertilisers or pesticides used at any stage of the growing or winemaking process. Adding to this ethos the company has also become carbon neutral, sequestering all the carbon that it produces.
