Wine Summary Image

Named after an ancient flood plain of the majestic River Murray in South Australia. Known for the greatest days of sunshine, the Riverland region has a pristine climate for premium grape growing on our limestone soils.

Winemaking Notes

The richness of the fruit in its natural state meant that minimal intervention was required in the winery. Separate parcels were left on skins for some time in order to develop the keen tannin structure, then fermented in stainless steel with the influence of French oak.

The Fruit

This Cabernet Sauvignon was selected at vintage from our family property at Glen Devlin on the River Murray. These mature vines are an average of 40 years on limestone which provides fruit intensity and varietal expression. The 2016 vintage produced reds of outstanding quality in the Riverland

Aroma

Lifted aromas of blackcurrant and blueberries have soft vanilla and cedar notes.

Palate

Full-bodied with juicy blackberry fruit and subtle oak. Smooth, luscious and soft it can be enjoy on its own or with barbequed lamb, stir fries and antipasti.
