Motor Vehicle Online Auction
By registering and bidding, you have agreed to Graysonline terms and conditions of sale. If necessary please familiarise yourself with them prior to bidding on any items in this auction.
The terms and conditions of the online auctions may change from time to time. Please ensure you clearly read the special terms and conditions contained in this page and also in the bidders agreement. Continuing to use the online auction service following amendments to these terms & conditions will constitute your acceptance of the new terms & conditions applying to this service.
Grays Online guarantee that all vehicles/boats/motorbikes in this sale are sold with clear title. Bidders may find if they do perform a REVS check in many cases the cars do have an encumbrance, which will be lifted as soon as the vehicle is sold at auction and monies are cleared in our account.
Please take care when making a bid as once your bid is placed, it cannot be withdrawn and will not be cancelled
TRANSFER OF OWNERSHIP & REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS
As registration and ownership requirements vary from state to state buyers should familiarise themselves with the registration and transfer requirements of the state in which the vehicle will be registered. As is standard practice the buyer is responsible for state transfer fees, duties etc. that may apply.
In line with requirements in Every State and Territory other than New South Wales, vehicles in these states/territories will be sold unregistered to private buyers. Plates will not be given to the successful buyer and it is their responsibility to obtain an UVP (unregistered vehicle permit) when organising to pick the vehicle up.
We advise purchasers to always check with relevant authorities (REVS, RTA, VIC Roads etc) for any previous vehicle history.
NSW REGISTERED VEHICLES - Before you buy a vehicle, it is your responsibility to check the registration and CTP insurance details of the vehicle via the RTA http://www.rta.nsw.gov.au/
or phone the RTA Contact Centre on 132213. You must transfer the registration into your name within 14 days of the vehicle coming into your possession or management.
GRAYS will not be liable for any fines in relation to registration matters and registration may be cancelled if not transferred within 14 days of the invoice date.
Once your invoice is paid, youll need to visit a motor registry with:
- Your GRAYS paid invoice
- Proof of identity, or if youre registering the vehicle in the name of a company or organisation, proof that the company or organisation is a legal entity
- A completed Application for Transfer form
- YOU WILL NOT NEED the old registration paperwork, these will not be given with the vehicle
And you may need to pay:
- Transfer fee
- Stamp duty (unless exempt)
- Additional motor vehicle tax (or national heavy vehicle charges) if you have bought your vehicle from someone receiving an RTA concession (such as a pensioner) and you are not eligible for that concession
- Late transfer surcharge. A surcharge will be applied to customers who fail to transfer the registration within 14 days of the date of acquisition

Where applicable, and subject to manufacturers terms and conditions, the balance of new car warranty will apply to these vehicles. No other warranties apply.
There is no warranty under the Motor Dealers Act 1974 in respect of vehicles sold by auction. Accordingly the dealer is not required by the Act to repair or make good any defect which may exist in any vehicle so sold.
Typically, auctions end at the closing time posted. There are some exceptions to this, however. If there are any bids on a particular lot within 10 minutes* of the auction closing time ("Going, Going, Gone!" period), it will be extended until there are no bids for 10 continuous minutes*.
There is no limit to the number of times an online auction can be extended. This makes graysonline work more like a live auction where the bidding does not stop as long as there is still interest in the product, rather than assigning an arbitrary cut-off time. To ensure that you do not get outbid make sure you monitor the auction until you have won the item or enter a bid that you think will win!
(* refer to Bidders Agreement for full details of "Going, Going, Gone!" period)
