R Winery Group History

The R Winery Group was founded in 2005 by US wine importer Dan Philips and renowned Australian winemaker Chris Ringland. The R Winery Group is an international distributor of premium quality Australian wine, with 90% of sales over the previous three financial years going to the US, Canada and Asia. The business sells over 30 brands in its portfolio, a large percentage of which have received Robert Parker ratings of 90 and above. The R Winery portfolio is highly regarded for its unique packaging and labelling. The combination of unique packaging and Robert Parker points has resulted in high demand for the wines, particularly with the younger demographic in American and Asian markets.

  • An exquisite Barossa Valley Shiraz, its' aroma is a super dark explosion of ripe berries and fruit cake. For the palate, it has a smooth velvety texture that starts with blackberry and plums, flowing into ceder oak and hints of leather. It comes in a unique bottle, with a poster placed beneath reflecting off the mirrored cover.

  • The Roogle range is part of the Marquis Philips portfolio. The Roogle range is a value for money wine, retailing at $10 per bottle. The reds are mainly Riverland based, with a bit of Barossa and McLaren Vale to provide depth and length to the wines. The Red blend is a Shiraz Cabernet Merlot blend. The Riesling is a Barossa Riesling, sweetened for easy drinking and made more to the German Cabernet Riesling style.
