Paradis Impérial encloses a treasure: Several hundred rare eaux de vie brought by James Hennessy, the son of the founder, Richard Hennessy.
Inspired by Paradis for its special definition of elegance, this Paradis Impérial boasts a subtlety that is even more pronounced. A hint of sophisticated refinement can already be glimpsed in the shimmering, slightly amber-coloured robe … But it is in the mouth that the extreme elegance of Paradis Impérial is revealed. The delicacy of its flavoursome notes gently arouses the palate, drawing its subtlety from the attentive ageing of the eaux-de-vie blended to produce it. Thanks to their maturation in old casks, these eaux-de-vie have kept the slight tint of oak without being overly marked by the wood. Aromas of jasmine, orange blossom and other flowery notes emerge, spiced with smoky accents that balance the freshness of the flowery notes. The persistence of the finish is surprising, given the absolute delicacy of its texture. Only the most rare of all cognacs are capable of such persistence.
In the course of his work, the Hennessy Master Blender gave his creativity free rein. His watchword was: “elegance and an extreme subtleness – they represent absolute rarity.” So the Master Blender drew on the Hennessy reserves, from some of the finest eaux-de-vie of the 19th century; in spite of their unique character, he did not hesitate to select a great number with a view to achieving his quest for perfection.
