Wine Summary Image

Taittinger Prestige Rosé immediately stands out for its intense, shimmering hue whose secret lies in the fact that it is a blend, which is more complex and costly to produce. A quantity of still red wine (15%) produced from the best Pinot Noirs from Montagne de Reims and Les Riceys is in fact added to the final blend, to give this cuvée its unmistakable colour and vibrant intensity on the palate.

The high proportion of Chardonnay (30%) that completes the blend brings the elegance and delicacy that underpin Taittinger’s signature style.

Winery Tasting Notes

Colour

The intense and brilliant body is bright pink in colour. The bubbles are fine, and the mousse persistent.

Aroma

The full nose, wonderfully expressive, is both fresh and young. It gives off aromas of red fruits (freshly crushed wild raspberry, cherry, blackcurrant).

Palate

On the palate, this wine strikes a fine balance of a velvet texture and full body taste. The flavours are reminiscent of fresh, crisp red fruits. The palate can be summed up in four words: lively, fruity, fresh and elegant, as only a rosé blend can be.

Food Matching

Taittinger Prestige Rosé can be enjoyed both early on and at the end of an evening. Deliciously fragranced for an aperitif, it is also a subtle accompaniment to fruit desserts, including fruit tart, fruit salad and red fruit crumble.

Winery Profile

Taittinger is one of the last remaining family-owned Champagne houses. In 1931, Pierre Taittinger purchased the historic Champagne house, Forest-Fourneaux, and a year later re-named it Champagne Taittinger.

Revered by critics all over the world, Champagne Taittinger is the very definition of French sophistication, elegance and finesse.

Located in the great regions of wine growing Champagne , the Champagne Taittinger vines cover 288 hectares evenly distributed over 34 different vineyards , which include some of the appellations finest . With varietals consisting of 50% Pinot Noir , 15% Pinot Meunier and 35% Chardonnay , the Taittinger vineyard is an unsurpassed expample of the Houses own style , in which Chardonnay plays such a significant role.

The Vineyards own production is supplemented by contractual acquisition of grapes from independent suppliers operating the finest vineyards in Champagne.

In proportion to its size , Taittinger is amongst the great Champagne houses , one of the growers with the largest supply from the Cotes des Blancs , the preferred place of origin of the Chardonnay grand crus.
