Planted by a former Mayor of Adelaide in 1969, The Mayor’s Vineyard is perched on the eastern ridge of the Clare Valley at a cool 500m altitude. The vineyard’s red loam soils are dotted with slate and have long produced savoury Shiraz wines of impeccable elegance.

Winery Tasting Notes

A compelling nose of ripe red fruits, baking spices and graphite is supported by an aromatic, char-like lift. Waves of red & purple fruits on the palate display purity & depth of flavour supported by sweeping sheets of fine, ripe tannins.

Knappstein Enterprise Winery & Brewery has been making premium Clare Valley wines since 1974. The winery is housed in the heritage listed Enterprise Brewery built in 1878. Knappstein's philosophy is simply to produce the best of the Clare Valley in handcrafted wines and beer.
