The same soil, same rainfall and same temperatures of a single vineyard produce a consistency of flavour throughout the wine. Our Single Vineyard wines are only made in years when nature contrives to produce fruit of such outstanding quality that our winemakers will set parcels aside to be separately bottled.

Heathcote is one of Australia’s unique and exciting red wine areas. Its unique topography provides the combination of climate and ancient soils to produce Shiraz that are fully ripe with white pepper character, excellent acidity and fine grained tannins.

Expert Reviews

TONI PATERSON, THE REAL REVIEW 94 Points - A classy and composed, single vineyard wine, that has with concentrated red and black fruits. The nose has hints of pure cherry, blackberry, chocolate and vanilla. It is surprisingly medium-bodied with brightness and energy, with vanilla and chocolate undertones. Lovely balance. Fine tannins and no rough edges. 2018-2024.

JANE FAULKNER, JAMES HALLIDAY'S WINE COMPANION 91 Points- There's more palate weight and a richness that's missing in the Rufus Stone, just as well given the price difference. Oak is making its mark adding some sweetness and spice to the ripe tannins, and a bit gritty.

HUON HOOKE, THE REAL REVIEW 91 Points - Deep red/purple colour, with a rich, ripe chocolate and dark plum aroma. The wine is fresh and lively in the mouth thanks to its acidity, the flavours are typical shiraz and very appealing. It would be even better with appropriate food. 2017-2035.

Winery Tasting Notes

Deep in colour with a vibrant purple hue, the aromas are dark and brooding with hints of chocolate and plum – lifted by the spicy whole fruit notes. Dark plum and currant fruit flavours are framed and enhanced on the palate by layers of soft fruit tannin and textural tight stalk tannin; all brought together and polished by fine grained French oak. Classic mineral texture from Heathcote terroir shines through all.
