Winery Tasting Notes

Winemaking Notes:

The colour is a bright straw with a youthful green tinge. The aroma begins on a fresh citrus and cashew note, picking up honeydew, nectarine and hint of mango and cucumber as it opens up in the glass.

On the palate, citrus and melon fruit come forward, over a creamy, yet well structured oak tannin base, finishing with lime zest acidity.

Having gained a reputation as a maker of innovative and elegant wines Geoff established his own business in 1980 and quickly achieved significant success in both Australian and International wine shows.

As a leading personality in the emerging Australian wine industry, Geoff also established a high profile internationally, most recently as consulting winemaker in Italy making wines for the UK market and as a respected judge at Australian and International wine shows.

Geoff Merrill's wines have been successful at Australian and International wine shows, including the coveted Jimmy Watson Trophy at the 2005 Melbourne wine show. Since 1980 Geoff Merrill Wines have won 29 Trophies, 143 Gold , 373 Silver and 1181 Bronze medals.
