Inspired by Michael Seresin’s own connections and interests, we are a new world winery with an old world approach - we are in no hurry when it comes to our wines. We let the wild yeasts that live in our vineyard ferment the grape juice into wine. Working this way does take a little more time, but we get wines with added savouriness and with more mouth watering textures and flavours. They also show a unique sense of place. We let all our wines spend time in barrel or bottle before release. Good things come to those who wait.

Winery Tasting Notes

Made from the fruit from some of our oldest Sauvignon Blanc vines and barrel fermented in a mixture of new and old French oak barriques, Marama is a wine with its own clear identity. It is richly textured, with aromas of citrus, elderflower and a hint of honey-comb. The palate is complex and involving, with soft oak providing weight and generosity to the underlying Sauvignon characters. A tight and focused acidity creates a lingering finish.

The sentinel stone at the entrance to our Home Vineyard in Marlborough, New Zealand, signals the path to bothour winery and our philosophy. Organically and biodynamically grown, hand-tended and handpicked,the grapes from our estate are handmade into wines of passion, grace and spirit.
