Rosé is an all occasion wine because of its freshness, brightness, crispness, and lightness.

Proper Rosé is made from the gentle and short extraction of juice from red grape varieties to obtain only the lightest tinges of pinks from the grape skins. After this extraction, rosé is largely made in the same way as white wine. Many, even most red grape varieties or blends thereof are suitable for making rosé. Different varieties give different flavours and colours and there is an “official” colour coding that includes and refers to the flesh of: cantelope, peach, red currant, ruby grapefruit, mango and mandarin.

Winery Tasting Notes

Made predominately from Shiraz grapes, this wine’s colour is a lively pink in the spectrum of peach, red currant and ruby grapefruit. Fresh red berry fruits, dusted with icing sugar and scented with rose water fill the bouquet .The palate is intently fruit driven and reminiscent of gorging on fresh raspberries - plush in texture, sort of sweet and full flavour. A dry mineral and citrus pith feel, leave a crisp, fresh, lingering finish.

Enjoy as winter thaws and over the warming spring and summer months.

Great with shared plates of: chargrilled octopus, parmesan and pumpkin aranchini, grilled chorizo, jamon berico, crusty bread, Sicilian green olives, white anchovy and broad bean pesto bruschetta - the menu is endless

About Us

The MadFish story begins in the far southern reaches of Western Australia where 15 kilometres from the quiet coastal town of Denmark is the picturesque Madfish Bay. According to local folklore, the bay’s tranquillity is broken when two tides meet. The fish confused by this natural phenomenon, can be observed leaping in the air as if in a state of complete madness.

Our Label

The artwork for the label was originally designed by the late Maxine Fumagalli, a Noongar artist from Western Australia’s Great Southern, who had a deep love for the land and the people of the South-West region.

Her designs reflect the Aboriginal understanding that there is unity between land, sea, stars, animals and people, hence the inclusion of all elements in the label’s design.

The traditional aboriginal water turtle design on the label is a symbol of perserverance and tolerance - no doubt characteristics displayed by the fish in MadFish Bay.
