Wine Summary Image

A restrained, minerally Chardonnay with well-focused acidity. The nose offers light citrus and pear before notes of green apple begin to develop. Fermentation with yeast strains that accentuate aromatic characters have allowed light fruit flavour to develop well. There's subtle complexity, hints of cashew and a minerally finish.

Pale straw in colour.

Aroma

You are greeted with notes of citrus peel, ripe stonefruit and sweet baking spices. Delicate floral and lightly toasted nut aromas combine to give a subtle and intriguing nose.

Palate

Rich and mouth filling on the entry with suggestions of white grapefruit and yellow plums. The mid palate adds lightly toasted cashew nuts and fresh cream to the mix before bright acidity leads you to a crisp, clean finish.

At latitude 45 degrees south, New Zealand’s Central Otago is the southernmost wine region in the world. Alpine mountains to the west, rocky ranges to the south and dry tussock covered hills to the east dominate the landscape. In between all of this grandness, on the lush valley floors, are nestled the Nanny Goat vineyards. This is a region of climatic extremes with typically very hot summers, short autumns and bitterly cold days in winter. The soils are rocky with poor fertility. All of these conditions are perfect for producing world-class Pinot Noir.
