Sasanokawa distillery is based in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture. The Yamazakura Distillery closed in 1998, after being merged into Sasanokowa. What's in this bottle is Yamazakura whisky aged over 20 years, first in x-Bourbon barrels for 15 years and then tanks and finally back to barrels again to finish up - reportedly in both wine and bourbon casks.
Pure malt whiskey that blends malt, sherry barrel mature malt, and peed malt balanced in a balanced manner, aged in oak barrels. You can enjoy the rich taste of malt, soft fruit incense from Sherry barrel, sweet smooth mouth feel and moderate smoky flavor.
